The result of the DEXA test is commonly reported as a T-score. Your T-score is based on a scale that compares your bone density to that of an average young adult woman.
That "average" bone density is rated "0," and your T-score reflects how close to or far from the average your bone density is. Those whose T-score is below the average have an increased risk of osteoporosis. The lower the T-score, the higher the risk of fracture.
This is the scale that doctors use when discussing your DEXA result. The lower the T-score, the higher the risk of fracture.
